The Muslim League of Voters is committed to recognizing and honoring the significant contributions of Black Muslim Americans to the fabric of our society. We understand the challenges faced by African American and African Muslim communities, often marginalized by Islamophobia, classism, and racism, both within and outside the Muslim community.
Black Muslims have played a pivotal role in shaping electoral outcomes, contributing to key victories such as President Biden's success in Pennsylvania. At the Muslim League of Voters, we are dedicated to ensuring that Black Muslim communities have the necessary resources to thrive, engage civically, and have their voices heard.
Our organization supports initiatives like the African American Policy Advisory Group, led by our National Senior Advisor, Imam Suetwedien Muhammad. This group comprises African American influencers, academics, policy experts, and community organizers, working together to address important issues facing the African American community. From forming official policy platforms to organizing voter outreach initiatives in cities like Detroit, Atlanta, and Philadelphia, our efforts are focused on advancing the needs of African American communities that are often overlooked.
Furthermore, we recognize the rich history of Islam in America, dating back to enslaved West Africans who bravely maintained their Muslim identities despite unimaginable hardships. Their resilience and commitment inspire us to embrace our Muslim identities proudly.
Additionally, movements like the Moorish Science Temple of America and the Nation of Islam have played integral roles in revitalizing Islam among Black Americans, empowering communities and advocating for social justice.
The Muslim League of Voters is committed to building upon this legacy, promoting inclusion, equity, and representation for all Muslims in America's political landscape. Join us in shaping a more just and equitable future for all.
